The divine promises

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

REFLECTION

In every one of us physical strength can falter, the trials intensify, and the handicaps grow, but the promises of the Lord have been given for all ages and life circumstances. With trust and submission to the faith, the tired believer can feed on the certainties that the word of God offers. Counting on Him day after day is the secret to a renewed strength, of a stable peace. On the cross Jesus fulfilled the work that allows each of us, sinners that we are, to reconcile with God through faith in Him. God's promises are destined to sustain the weakest believer in the hardest situation.
